Provisional Programme for 2018 Stogursey Arts Festival

Wednesday 12th September

7.30 pm              Opening Night and where you will be able to preview ‘the Ark’ and supporting exhibitions and enjoy some special presentations

This is also the opening night of the ‘Light Up Stogursey’ project, our annual light up trail around the village and parish, which runs after dusk every night of the Festival.

 

Thursday 13th September

10am till 4pm  All exhibitions, including the ‘Festival Flowers’ will be open during the day with a variety of opportunities to see the famous Plinth, returning by popular request in the Dog Pound.

7pm  The Soap Factory Cinema will be opening its doors for a Movie Theme Night, details to follow.

 

Friday 14th September

10am till 4pm  All exhibitions continue during the day in the Church and Church Rooms, including the ‘Festival Flowers’ and opportunities to see the famous Plinth in the Dog Pound.

 7pm   ‘Friday Night is Music Gala Night’ in the Victory Hall, with a wide range of local bands, performers and special guests.

 

Saturday 15th September

10am – 4pm  In addition to exhibitions in the Church and Church rooms, including the ‘Festival Flowers’ and opportunities to see the famous Plinth in the Dog Pound, there will be an Exhibition of Children’s work in the School.

Also in the Church during the afternoon, don’t miss the ‘Ark-tiques’ Roadshow (see below)

10am till 3pm  Vintage Tea, Coffee and Cakes Event in the Church Rooms.

10am till 3pm  We will be running the Craft Fair in the car park of the Greyhound Pub.

The Greyhound may also be hosting other music events including the very popular drumming workshop.

2.30pm till 4pm  ‘Ark-tiques’ Roadshow in the Church.  Bring along an item you value to take into the Ark and discuss its significance with our expert Steve Minnitt, former Head of the Somerset Museums Service.

 

Sunday 16th September

10am till 4pm  Exhibitions in the Church Rooms

Blessing of the Well Dressing at St Andrew’s Well (TBC)

10am till 2.30pm  Today the exhibitions in the Church provide a backdrop to another significant change to our programme.

3pm  Music On The Quantocks are bringing one of their high profile, world class concerts to the village. The Trio Mediaeval will be performing their beautiful and haunting music taking advantage of the amazing acoustics offered in St Andrew’s Church on the closing day of our Festival.

6.30pm               Celebration Service in the Church
